Improve Operator Task Management

The basic objective of Operator Task Management is to be able to easily schedule Tasks on a time or condition basis, ensure that people are aware of the Tasks that need to be completed, provide an effective tool to assist in completing and recording Task completion and the result, and report on the results of all Tasks.

Operator Task Management is one important piece of ensuring proper integrity at the site. This means that the processes and equipment must be controlled properly. This requires continuous control, and inspections/interventions on a basis designed to maintain appropriately low levels of risk. Operator Task Management refers to the management of the inspections and interventions. Whether automated control or manual intervention, all actions are targeted at keeping the process and equipment within normal operating conditions and optimizing operation. Therefore the parameters that define the proper operation should be managed and viewed based on the system in question, irrespective of whether the data is gathered manually or automatically.

By automating inspection processes, schedules and enforcement of business rules in a single system, management will have assurance that regulatory compliance tasks are being completed and the exchange of information, the making of judgments, and multifaceted forms of knowledge and exchanges are taking place between co-workers. Therefore the strategy will need to include the aggregation and consolidation of Operator Task Management, standard operating procedures, operator rounds, equipment & electrical inspections, safety inspections, and standardized work processes into a common mobile workforce and decision support system. This system will then be able to provide management with warnings and/or notifications if the enterprise is in danger of missing any regulatory compliance metric – by facility, asset or resource.

SAT Corporation's IntelaTrac is an all-in-one mobile workforce and decision support system that easily manages, tracks and analyzes Tasks and improves Operator Task Management.
